The owner of 777 operated a successful C&D plant for screening and hand picking of recyclates. The site is situated in a built-up industrial area, and therefore had access to a large variety of mixed waste materials. With RDF production becoming a route away from landfill, Pure Cycle Engineering’s engineers were called in to design a system to turn their C&I waste stream into a high-grade RDF.
Installed in 2009, the plant for 777 Demolition consisted of Pre-shredding, metals removal, density separation, and 3 separate high capacity re-shredders to allow a high availability of operation. Material rejected from this line was conveyed to the existing C&D line to allow further recyclates to be picked and sold.
A high-quality RDF was loaded automatically into twin-truck loading station, located directly on a twin weighbridge system to ensure maximum TARE weight per vehicle.
The system has been in full operation since its installation processing up to 180,000 tpa during peak times.
